As an artist shaped by the city and community of South Seattle and the CD, my work has always carried a site-specific, hyperlocal energy with worldwide ambition. Grounded in the buses, blocks, and neighborhoods that raised me. At the same time, my practice as a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and researcher has taken me across the globe, exhibiting and creating in spaces far from home. Worldwide/Hyperlocal sits at this intersection: printed on a King County Metro bus schedule, a piece of pure Seattle infrastructure, and threaded through with the Radiant® Sun World philosophy that runs through all my work – gold, divine grace, and the fusion of civilization and nature. This tension between the mundane and the sublime, between being worldwide and hyperlocal at once, is what gave rise to this new print.
